Outfit Guide/Tips for your session

I’m so excited to photograph you and capture this special moment in your life!

I want you to feel confident, comfortable, and totally yourself!

This guide is here to help you plan outfits that not only look great on camera but also help you feel a little less overwhelmed when it comes to finding what to wear!

Do NOT stress, I got you covered!

What colors should I wear?

Neutral & Earth Tones: Soft colors like cream, beige, tan, black, muted blues, and sage photograph beautifully!

Dress for the Location & Season: Consider the setting—forest, beach, urban, etc.—and the weather.

What to avoid?

Logos & Busy Prints: These distract from your face and the overall photo.

Coordinate, Don’t Match: Choose complementary colors rather than dressing everyone the same.

Avoid tight-fitting clothes: Super snug outfits can feel uncomfortable and restrict movement. Flowy, relaxed pieces not only help you feel at ease but also add beautiful movement

Photoshoot Prep Tips

  • Nails: Treat yourself to a manicure/pedicure before your shoot. Even if your hands aren’t the main focus, well-groomed nails add a polished touch to your overall look!

  • Hair & Makeup: If you’re planning to do your own hair and makeup, consider doing a trial run before the shoot to ensure you’re happy with the look! This helps avoid any surprises on the day of the session.

  • Hydrate & Moisturize: Don’t forget to moisturize/lotion your skin to avoid any dryness that can show up in photos!

  • Mind Your Undergarments: Choose seamless undergarments that won’t create visible lines under your clothing. Nude shades often work best under light-colored outfits!

  • Pack a Touch-Up Kit: Bring along a small bag with essentials like blotting papers, lipgloss, a hairbrush, and any other items you might need for quick touch-ups.

  • Bring Extra Shoes: If your shoot involves multiple locations or walking, pack an extra pair of comfortable shoes to switch into as needed.

  • Poses: I’ll guide you through every pose and prompt during our shoot—so no stress about what to do! But if you have any specific ideas or must-have shots in mind, jot them down or save them to your phone. That way, we can ensure we capture everything you envision!
